    This Siva temple was built by our great grandfather "Vellayappan" Aiyya in the year 1800. Lord Siva had appeared in our great grandfather's dream and told him that Lord himself is in the garden nearby and asks our great grandfather to build a temple for him. Next day when our great grandfather goes for a normal walk in our Nandhavanam (garden), our ayya finds the Lingam. Ayya then builds the temple for Lord Siva there. It is because of this our house is called as "Koil Ayya Old house" and "Koil Ayya New house".

    This pond was formed when the mud there was removed to build our house "Koil Ayya pudhu Veedu" in the year 1902. This pond was then donated to the village for common use.
